Co-curricular Activities

Co-curricular activities inspire and engage students, enabling them to discover and pursue new passions and to develop greater self-confidence and self-awareness. Co-curricular activities complement and enhance student learning by providing a framework where their diverse abilities and talents can be recognized and nurtured, thereby contributing to social and emotional development.

The objective is to provide (or encourage students to seek) opportunities, whether at school or in the wider community, to develop skills across a range of creative, physical, social or cultural activities.

Primary School

Afterschool Clubs are proposed on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday after class. Paris-wide Association Sportive sports are offered on Wednesday afternoon.

Afterschool Clubs include arts, music, cultural activities and sports such as musical comedy (in English), choir, creative writing, theater (in English and in French), comic book, hip-hop, jazz, tap dancing, chess, robotics, crafts, sewing, cooking, Kung Fu… On Wednesday afternoon, 4th and 5th graders can choose football (soccer) or rock climbing (5th grade only).

Nursery children have their own Junior Afterschool program, which combines hands-on arts and crafts with theater, story telling, games and afternoon snack.

Secondary School

In Middle School and in Upper School, a number of co-curricular activities are organized by the School’s Association culturelle et sportive (ACS). They include coding, theater, yoga photo, hip-hop, jazz dance, robotics… as well as sports: basketball, football, rock climbing, etc. The range of activities is adjusted every year in response to student choices and suggestions.

In addition to ACS-run activities, the School has a vibrant Chess Club with several teams competing at the Paris and national level, student-run social enterprise and fundraising initiatives and a hugely popular Debate Club which prepares teams participating in national and international tournaments such as Harvard Model United Nations or Harvard Model Congress Europe.
