Higher Education Counseling

Today’s world is characterized by profound and accelerating change. In this context, our aim is to help students prepare for jobs that don’t yet exist, using technologies that haven’t been invented in order to solve problems we don’t even know are problems yet. Most students will change course in their studies as well as in their career paths; it is therefore crucial that they gain a broad perspective of the vast landscape of educational opportunities available to them, all over the world.

This is why counseling students for higher education, helping them evaluate options and apply to the universities they choose is a central focus at our School. This is particularly important since our students’ bilingualism and top academic accomplishments give them access to the most prestigious universities and colleges around the world. These institutions are also the most selective and it is therefore essential that, along the journey, students reach the decisions that are best suited to their talents, curriculum choices and career aspirations.

Requirements also vary considerably among countries: some simply require submission of a transcript, others require significant investments in time to complete the application process, others still – the US for example – require considerable preparation and forethought, beginning in ninth or tenth grade.

In Upper School, a University Advisor and a College Counselor help students choose and prepare for application to higher education institutions in the UK, USA, Canada and elsewhere. These specialists are in close contact with the admissions officers of the institutions our students apply to, including many who visit us every year. Our students’ academic and extra-curricular accomplishments combine with the professionalism of our advisors to yield outstanding placement results.
